Verandahs will be replaced by a new architecturally designed shade structure in the Brolga Place Revitalisation Project.

Murrumbidgee Council Mayor, Ruth McRae called on local community organisations to work with Council to apply for a share in the latest round of NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Funding.

Councillor McRae said local community organisations in the Murrumbidgee Council area would receive a total of $395,729 with the department stating each project had to be worth a minimum of $100,000.

“This amount is in addition to the $870,605 allocated to Council, with Councillors resolving at the August Council meeting to apply for funding towards the Brolga Place Revitalisation Project,” Councillor McRae said.

“There are lots of possibilities that community groups may elect to apply for.

“Potential projects are community and sporting infrastructure, street beautification, projects enhancing accessibility and inclusion for people with disability, projects improving outcomes for Aboriginal people, and community programs and local events.”

Councillor McRae said an important criteria was that proposed projects on Council land must be accompanied by a recent letter confirming Council’s approval.

Potential applicants should liaise with Murrumbidgee Council Economic and Tourism Development Manager, Kellie Dissegna on 1300 676 243 or email kellied@murrumbidgee.nsw.gov.au.

Ms Dissegna can also assist by providing a Letter of support and by reviewing draft applications received by September 14. Visit Council’s website at https://bit.ly/3RlTeTq for more information.
