Volunteer Firefighters Always Welcome
The MIA fire brigades are always looking for volunteers.
All brigades across the MIA would benefit from extra members on the trucks, particularly during the bushfire period.
There are positions for almost everyone, even those not wishing to jump on the trucks.
They have a need for members trained in radio communications, logistics (moving trucks, transporting resources like foam and welfare for crews), aviation crews refilling planes and choppers with water and retardant, etc.
Once accepted into a brigade, individuals can expect PPE/C and free nationally recognised training.
The RFs can also help members to get a truck licence once they are eligible.
Contact the MIA Office on 6966 7800, approach your local brigade or visit www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/volunteer and follow the prompts if you would like more information.
