With rehearsals for The Wedding Singer, Griffith Regional Theatre has invited local businesses to jump on board as sponsors to support the upcoming production.

Set in 1985, The Wedding Singer tells the story of rock star wannabe, Robbie Hart who is New Jersey’s favourite wedding singer.

He’s the life of the party until shot through the heart when his own fiance leaves him at the altar.

Now, Robbie sees every wedding as disastrous as his own.

It makes for some gloomy wedding vocals.

All hope is not lost, though.

Winsome waitress, Julia catches Robbie’s eye and wins his affection.

The only problem is she is about to be married herself - to a Wall Street shark complete with fancy suits and loads of cash to throw around.

Can Robbie pull off the performance of a decade and win the girl of his dreams?

You’ll have to come see the production by Griffith’s local talent and find out for yourself.

Manager of Griffith Regional Theatre, Marg Andreazza said the show was going to be an all-singing, all dancing party not to be missed.

“Our cast and production team are hard at work, and the show is already starting to come together,” Mrs Andreazza said.

“Tickets are not on sale yet, but when they are they are going to be hot property.

“However there is a way you can guarantee the best seats in the house, and that is by partnering with us as a Sponsor.

“Not only will businesses receive extensive exposure for their brand, they will receive great hospitality benefits, such as pre-show events, an opportunity to meet the cast, premium seating and at the same time helping this Community Production become a reality,” she said.

“There will be over 5000 people attending the 10 performances in September, so this is a great chance to showcase your brand to a large local audience, plus during the lead-up to the event.

“We have sponsorship packages to suit all budgets – but they all have great benefits.” Businesses are encouraged to sign up by the end of April to secure their tickets before they go on sale to the general public and maximise their promotional opportunities.

Information on different sponsorship levels are available from the Theatre by calling Theatre Manager Marg Andreazza on 6962 8444 or emailing theatre@griffith.nsw.gov.au.
