Wiradjuri Preschool Celebrates 60 Years

When it comes to creating memories, Wiradjuri Preschool has 60 years of experience - and they are celebrating those 60 years with a free family fun day for the whole community.

Speaking on behalf of the preschool, Jacinta Simpson said the event was one of three events running as part of their 60th anniversary celebrations.

“We are also hosting an open day at the preschool Friday, 1st November and a celebration dinner the night of the 2nd November,” Ms Simpson said.

“This event will bring the community together to promote fun, togetherness and celebrate the 60 years of Griffith Wiradjuri Aboriginal Preschool.”

Local businesses and organisations were invited to get involved by setting up stalls or running workshops, games, or activities on the day to promote their services and join in the fun, but in order to keep the event free, there will be no selling of products or services.

“We have also put out an invitation for local organisations and businesses to partner with us for this event by making donations to help cover costs to ensure the whole day is free and accessible for all.

“All contributors will be recognised on all event marketing materials including social media and flyers.”

Today, Friday, October 25 is the last opportunity for any interested businesses or organisations to contact the team via email - griffithwiradjurips60th@gmail.com and get involved.

Families can expect loads of fun for all ages and all walks of life, from free amusement rides and games, a barbecue lunch and DJ.

As well as the Family Fun Day, a celebration dinner will be held at Hanwood Sports Club on Saturday night from 6 pm to 11 pm, complete with three-course meal and entertainment as well as loads of stories, laughs and history from the “Save the Children Fund Hall” on the Three Ways to the Blumer Avenue site and everything in between.

Wiradjuri Aboriginal Preschool will also host an open day on Friday, November 1 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at 101 Blumer Avenue, with snacks and drinks provided.
