With more housing still desperately needed locally, infrastructure work is set to commence at the intersection of Citrus and Rifle Range Roads, in Collina.

The work, funded by the NSW Regional Housing Fund whose aim is to unlock and accelerate new housing capacity in the State, will enable Griffith

City Council to support the delivery of new housing. Council’s Director of Infrastructure and Operations, Phil King said planning had been underway for some months, with the work to include the installation of turning lanes and new street lighting.

“There is a desperate need for housing in Griffith and these funds allow Council to deliver infrastructure to enable development to progress,” Mr King said.

“Anything that Council can do to contribute to an increase in housing stock is being investigated.

“This is just one of the ways in which Council is helping to address the need.”

Council received $1,400,000 to carry out the work, which is expected to be completed by December 2023.
