It was a busy time for the Country Women’s Association across the Murray last month as they celebrated 100 years of Yenda CWA.

Through the years Yenda CWA has supported the community during floods, drought and fires.

They have fought for healthcare, education and supported families in times of need.

Their advocacy is still needed today as governments continue to centralise services to large regional cities hundreds of kilometres away.

Barbara Jeffreys, who was awarded a well-earned life membership by the CWA state president Joy Beames.

Up to 300 women delegates gathered to discuss the impact of health and wellbeing of women and how to make potentially life changing contributions to their communities at the Association of Country Women of the World, South Pacific Area Conference held in Griffith from September 8 to 12.
